A practical onboarding and registration guide tailored for first-time users and returning members.

Welcome & Quick Orientation

This page walks you through two parallel flows: signing in if you already have an account, and creating a new account if you are just starting. Each section explains what to expect, the information required, and why certain choices matter for your security and long-term access.

Design philosophy

We prioritize clarity and safety. Modern account systems mix convenience (biometrics, quick sign-ins) with irreversible, user-controlled recovery (phrases, backup codes). That means you benefit from both ease of use and a proactive approach to backups and device control.

At-a-glance flow

1

Choose how to access

Decide whether to log in with your email and password, restore from a recovery phrase, or sign in with a hardware key. Different methods offer different balances of security and convenience.

2

Verify identity

Most flows request an additional verification step, such as an email code or a time-based one-time password (TOTP). This helps prevent unauthorized access when devices or passwords are compromised.

3

Secure the account

Set up backup mechanisms: recovery words, encrypted backups, and optional hardware keys. We strongly encourage at least two independent backups stored in different physical locations.

Registration — create your account

Below is a mock registration form demonstrating the kinds of information typically required during creation. We show optional fields and explain when to fill them. Remember: email and password are standard; recovery phrase setup is mandatory for wallets because it is the only way to recover funds if you lose device access.

Registration notes and guidance

During the registration process you will often be asked to write down a recovery phrase — typically 12 to 24 words. This phrase is the single most important piece of data for restoring your account on a new device. Treat it like a physical asset: write it carefully, store it offline, and never share it electronically.

Security & account resilience

Why backups matter

Accounts that control value require an irreversible recovery mechanism. Without it, losing your password or device can mean permanent loss. A robust backup strategy reduces the chance of irreversible loss dramatically.

Recommended backups

  • Primary: Memorized phrase secured in a safe location.
  • Secondary: A physical copy in a separate secure location (e.g., another safe or a bank deposit box).
  • Optional: Encrypted digital backup on an air-gapped USB drive (encrypted with a strong passphrase).

Account recovery scenarios

We detail three common situations: forgotten password, stolen device, and lost recovery phrase. Each has different remedies; a lost recovery phrase is the most severe because it often cannot be remedied without prior backups.

This document was written to be actionable. If you follow the guidance here — using unique passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, and making at least two physical copies of your recovery phrase — your account and assets will be far safer than average users.
